The Cambridge Handbook of the Governance of Technology is a collection of essays on the various ways governance is impacted by emerging technologies. This book approaches viewpoints from experts in various fields of how law protects citizens, consumers, and users of technology from its perceived dangers, to understand digital technology’s full rewards and benefits. How does law, policy, and governance adapt to intense technological acceleration? How do processes of human governance and traditions of law interact with emerging technologies? With limited technical knowledge being outpaced by technological advance, how do humans learn faster to “meditate on the most important values” which need protection in positive law? These questions are taken up to reconstruct the arguments in the following review of The Cambridge Handbook of the Governance of Technology to then critically evaluate it.
